Public perceptions of aquaculture, especially of seaweed aquaculture, was initially identified as a possible risk factor to the development of a seaweed industry on the West Coast during the Seafarm stakeholder "future workshop" back in the spring on 2014. A survey was conducted in the summer of the following year, resulting in this new publication in Ambio.

The paper was a collaboration between Jean-Baptiste E. Thomas, Jonas Nordström, Emma Risén, Maria E. Malmström and Fredrik Gröndahl.
